Hi, *|FNAME|*!
The manual transmission.
Who knows what that is?
I have to ask that now because fewer and fewer cars are being made with a "stick shift." You might remember a time when half the cars on the road had a stick. Even then, knowing how to drive one put you in a
special class. You were cool!
For better or for worse, it looks like the stick is on the way out.
Those of us who love to drive hope that the stick never goes away. It's a huge part of the driving experience. It's something that automatic transmissions and even paddles can't replace.
With that in mind, in this after-the-huge-snow-blizzard issue of REV, number fifteen if you're keeping count, I chose a couple articles that will show you how to really master the stick and the clutch. Be one of the few who is a master of this lost art.
We also have a few other neat articles that will make you say "Hmmm..." Like, what is a "donk"? (If you don't know, please don't be embarrassed. I didn't know either until I read the article.) There's also another article on why your turn signal makes that clicking noise.
I hope you enjoy this issue. Please tell your friends about our little 'zine and tell them to subscribe because it means a lot to us to be able to share our love of motoring with great people like yourself.
So, until the next issue, which will be in two weeks, get out there and burn some rubber! (Safely, of course!) |
